Ah. Went to work for the last two days. Got my keys and checked out my rooms. Both are a mess. My own room has stuff everywhere on top of a messy floor. They need to bring an electrician in to take out the electrical wiring under the tables before they can take the tables out so they can put more chairs and the shelf in. Also, my desk was defiled by someone who ransacked my happy face stickers and put them all over. I don’t know about you…but, that is just wrong. I need locks on everything. I requested them yesterday…let us see how long it takes to get done.
The secretary has been a little snippy today (and yesterday). She seemed very annoyed and literally expressed a dislike of our presence their. She wondered why we were there so early in the year to bother her. Um…I don’t know about you, but all I wanted was my keys and, if I could have gotten them myself, I would have. I don’t usually complain about people, but her job is to make sure the front office work is taken care of…and that includes giving keys out to teachers…who would prefer not to bother her, but have to get the key from her to get to their classrooms so they can be ready for when school starts. She may not realize this, even after so many years, but it takes some of us longer to do it than others. And, isn’t coming in earlier a sign that you are dedicated? Isn’t that what you want? Teachers who get things done beforehand or on time? All she had to say was that she was busy and would do it later. Instead, she mutters under her breath that it is an inconvenience and why are we there and such. And, that wasn’t the worst. The janitor basically told someone who asked very nicely that he would not move something from one gym to another even though that is what he is paid to do (stuff that involves moving and cleaning, etc.). He flat out told the guy that they had been moving stuff forever and that if he could help it, he would not be doing it. Um…”you’re at WORK!” Get with the program. It took some heavy hinting and coaxing for him to actually move to do it with much reluctance. Sad Sad Sad. This world we live in has become a place of lazy, “I don’t want to be bothered with what I’m supposed to be doing” kind of people. Good God!
Anyway, I had lunch with Belinda. She moved and forgot to tell me. We went to Fuji’s and I saw several people from APO including Dale, who was up from San Diego. Can you believe that boy lives with Missionaries for the poor and helps them out? If only it paid the bills. Good luck to you man!
After lunch, we went to Best Buy, Petco, and Circuit City. A fun little day of window shopping (well, actually, I bought some DVDs). I also was eyeing a chinchilla…oh..so cute. I miss Chi-chi!
I just had to vent. I hope that laziness I witnessed was just a sign of random crankiness and not epidemic and long withstanding. That would suck.
