Hey ya'll! How is everyone doing? I just moved again. Dave's house is ready and I've taken hold...haha. Thanx to Will, Rosina, Keith, and Charlene, for helping me move. It was a lot easier this time around...maybe because most of my stuff was still in a box and we could all just start moving without the actual packing. I've already entrenched myself. The t.v., computer, and bookshelves are all set up. But, enough about the move. Thanksgiving break starts today and I am greatly relieved to have a week to relax and not worry too much about work and all the stress built up from 2.5 months of non-stop whining from 15 yr-olds. I've met some really great kids, but I've also discovered some bad seeds that are rotting the core of our educational system. Now, these bad seeds are not necessarily the kids themselves, but their attitudes, beliefs, and general disposition and apathy about their own education and the education of others. It is sad how they reflect what is generally the case in America and not the exception. Another teacher remarked to me yesterday that the kids in her room were not really watching the movie that was on, but when she would ask to turn it off, they would complain. It is almost as if the noise were necessary, as if they were used to it and that without it, they would feel less secure. It gives new meaning to the "television as babysitter" idea expressed by many that is plagueing our society.
But, enough of that...I digress way too much. I am going home this week to visit family and I am going to eat eat eat eat EAT! Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Drive safe, be well, and get stuffed...literally..hahaha!
