Ah, parties, birthdays, and people, people, people...Wow, what a great couple of days so far. The days have been very warm...literally, but the nights have been fun, cool in more ways than one, and full of just people, new and old. Last night was Christina Chou's birthday party at the Glas Kat in S.F. I remember leaving Fremont's hot, muggy climate at 5:30 in the afternoon and wound up stuck in traffic for at least an hour and a half. When I got to the club, it took me another 15 to 20 to look for parking. I finally found it under the freeway underpass (spooky).
When I arrived inside, Christina was playing the gracious hostess and greeting people as they came in. She pointed out the food and went off again to greet more people. A live band set up and played as we were eating (they were pretty good). The room soon filled with many people. Good thing the dance floor opened up and most people filed downstairs to dance the night away. I got in some dancing and found myself growing tired about midnight and made my way to the exit to make the drive back to Fremont. The drive back was much easier. Thanks Christina for a great time!!!
And, tonight, I just got back from celebrating another birthday. I had no idea that it was Michelle’s birthday and my sister mentioned it and I said, “Sure…haven’t seen her in ages!” It was very relaxing. Dinner was at a place called Café Torre in Cupertino. Kinda pricey for the fare, but the atmosphere was very classy. Get this, there was actually a note on the bottom of the menu to not use cell phones in the restaurant. Wow, I guess that the use of phones is getting really bad in some parts. Anyway, I met some really nice people. We all ended up back at Michelle’s apartment where the Mah Jong, karaoke discs, and green tea cake were immediately taken out to partake in. Ah, a good ol’ fashioned Chinese party…hahaha. Happy Birthday Michelle!
Tomorrow, we are going to celebrate another birthday, but that is another story for another day. Wanted to wish Shu-Jon a happy birthday again. Man..so many this month. Well, happy birthday or happy anniversary, etc., to anyone I missed. Hope you are all having a great time!
