It has been a while now. I can not believe that it has been a week since my last post, but here it goes. I am currently at school chatting with some friends, listening to some mp3s and waiting for a colleagues' band's spring concert to begin. That is the rub of living 1/2 an hour from work...I don't want to go home and come back because of many reasons: once I get there, I never want to leave again, traffic on the way back is horrible, it is dinner time, damnit!
Last weekend was the 14th Annual Academy Conference and several teachers went down to L.A. to learn some new things about Academies and how they can be more effective from other successful academies. The first one I went to was very informative because it basically talked about an idea that I thought all districts should have and that is an online site in which students, parents, teachers, etc., can all access and look at scores, check out statistics, be one with the standards in various subjects, and be up on the latest info in the district. Well, if you wanna check it out, go to www.kernlearn.net. I found it to be very fascinating.
Anyway, coming back to classes was just as hectic as usual. My sub left me a little note and that is great, but she said: "I think some of the pens went missing. Too bad!!" I don't know about you, but that does not sound too apologetic. I don't even think I suggested using pens for the visual. Just plain paper would have been nice.. I am glad that some subs are inventive like that, but not all the time and not if things can be potentially lost.
Anyway, I must go. Off to enjoy some good music.
